Note that the Church will only post FAQs related to our Metropolis, parish, and ministry, and will direct all medical and health related questions to the resources posted above.

Question: Will St. Athanasios have services, and will they be live streamed?

Answer: As of 3/14/2020 the Metropolis of Chicago has suspended all Church services for the time being. There will not be services conducted at St. Athanasios. When services are reinstated, we will continue to livestream our services though the St. Athanasios Facebook Page.

Question: Is the Church office open?

Answer: In anticipation of the State of Illinois issuing a Shelter in Place order, the office will not be open. Office staff will be working remotely and are accessible via email or via a new temporary phone number 331-256-7248.

Question: How can I get in touch with Fr. Panagiotis for a pastoral/emergency situation?

Answer: Fr. Panagiotis’ pastoral phone number is 630-423-6365. Please use that number.

Question: What will ministry at St. Athanasios look like while Church Services and activities are suspended?

Answer: We will be sending out regular email communication to the parish to keep everyone informed of developments with COVID-19. Those emails will also have resources for parishioners to sustain and feed their faith in what St. John Chrysostom calls the “Church of the Home”. Any activities or ministries that can be conducted virtually will be.

Most importantly, if any of our elderly or at risk parishioners cannot leave their homes and are in need of groceries, medications, or home supplies, please contact Fr. Panagiotis on his pastoral number 630-423-6365 and he will arrange for those items to be purchased and delivered.
